There are several ways to get from your Disney area hotel to Universal Studios. We have guests that want to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios and want to add a day or two to their Walt Disney World Vacation. So here are the options to get from Disney to Universal and back and I also outline which options are the most affordable and will save you the most time so you can enjoy your day in the Parks.
Getting to Universal from your Disney Hotel:
1. A Cab – This is not the cheapest option, but if you have your hotel set this up for you ahead of time you can meet the cab outside your hotel and drive directly to Universal Studios. The cabs are metered and should run you about $45 one way. Get the drivers card and call them 30-45 minutes before you are ready to leave the park. 2. A Rental Car – You can rent one at Alamo at Disney’s Dolphin/Swan Alamo Rental Car location, or at the Alamo by the Magic Kingdom Park. You can get a nice rental car for about $40-$45 a day. You also have to pay to park at Universal Studios which is $15.00
If you already have a rental car for your length of stay at Disney World, than this is your best way to get to Universal Studios and back.
3. Universal Shuttle – There is a Universal Shuttle that the Mears Transportation Company runs from Disney World Area Hotels to Universal Studios. The shuttle is a package deal and includes your park admission and the shuttle to and from Universal Studios Florida.
