Considering the Royal Pacific Club Level at Universal Orlando? You can learn about the exclusive lounge, food offerings, and whether the upgrade is worth the cost for your group..
The allure of a Signature Collection hotel at Universal Orlando is undeniable, and Loews Royal Pacific Resort stands out with its immersive, tropical theme. For many visitors, the ultimate question is whether to take the experience a step further with the Royal Pacific Club Level upgrade. It promises a luxurious escape from the theme park hustle with exclusive amenities, but is it a worthwhile investment?
This guide will break down everything you need to know about the Royal Pacific Club Level and help you decide if it’s the right choice for your next vacation. We’ll dive into the concrete benefits, the actual value of the experience, and the key factors you should consider before booking. Additionally, the club level works similarly at other Universal Orlando Resort hotels offering a club level. However, this resource will focus on our most recent experience at Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando.
What Is a Royal Pacific Club Level Room?
A Royal Pacific Club Level room is an upgraded accommodation that gives you exclusive access to a members-only lounge. At the Royal Pacific Resort, this lounge is on the 7th floor and offers a quiet, relaxed atmosphere away from the crowds.
The main attraction is the complimentary food and beverage service throughout the day. While the offerings can change, the typical schedule is:
- Continental Breakfast (7 a.m. – 10 a.m.): A spread of pastries, bagels, fresh fruit, cereal, and hot items like scrambled eggs or breakfast potatoes. It’s a quick and convenient way to start your day without a long wait.
- Afternoon Snacks (12 p.m. – 3 p.m.): Lighter fare like pretzels, chips, and cookies. It’s perfect for a quick stop during a mid-day break from the parks. There are plenty of snacks for every member of your group.
- Evening Hors d’oeuvres (5 p.m. – 7 p.m.): This is a standout feature. The lounge offers a variety of hot and cold dishes, from sliders and mac and cheese to charcuterie and salads. It’s often substantial enough to serve as a light dinner, with complimentary beer and wine available for adults.
- “Sweets Hour” (8 p.m. – 9 p.m.): A selection of desserts and sweet treats to enjoy before heading to bed.
Is the Cost of Royal Pacific Club Level Worth It?
This is the big question. A Royal Pacific Club Level room typically costs an additional $150 to $250 per night on top of the standard room rate. To determine if it’s worth it, you have to look beyond the initial price and consider the value it adds. For full disclosure, during our most recent stay in August 2025 during weekdays, the difference in price was around $70. Prices will vary so please consult your travel advisor at Universal Family Vacations. They will be able to monitor pricing for your group and guide you fee-free through the booking process.
Let’s do a quick cost analysis for a family of four on a four-night stay. A standard room might cost $400 per night, totaling $1,600. The Royal Pacific Club Level upgrade could add $200 per night, bringing the total to $2,400—an extra $800 for the trip.
Price Breakdown
Now, let’s see how much you could potentially save on food and drinks:
- Breakfast: A quick-service breakfast for four at the park can easily cost $50. Over four days, that’s $200.
- Dinner/Hors d’oeuvres: If your family can use the lounge’s evening offerings as a light dinner, you could save $100-$150 per night on a quick-service or casual dining meal, totaling $400-$600.
- Drinks and Snacks: This is where the savings truly add up. Bottled water in the parks can be expensive, and being able to grab unlimited bottled water, soda, and coffee from the lounge can save you a significant amount. Plus, for adults who enjoy beer or wine, the complimentary evening alcohol can add up to a notable savings. A conservative estimate for drinks and snacks would be $30-$50 per day, or $120-$200 for the trip.
Now, we can argue whether your group would consume that many beverages during your Universal Orlando Resort vacation. However, in this scenario, the estimated savings of $720-$1,000 on food and drinks often cover a large portion of the Royal Pacific Club Level upgrade. While you may not “make money” on the deal, the convenience and comfort it provides often outweigh the cost difference. The ease of being able to take a short walk from your room to the Royal Lounge adds inherent value. For those of us with diet soda addiction, the Royal Pacific Club Level worked nicely. However, during our recent visit, the diet soda option was only Diet Coke.
The Intangible Perks of Royal Pacific Club Level
The true value of a Royal Pacific Club Level room goes beyond a simple cost-benefit analysis. It’s about a better vacation experience.
- Ultimate Convenience: On a busy theme park day, every minute counts. Having a stress-free, quick breakfast in the lounge before heading to the parks is a huge time-saver. After a long day of walking, the last thing you want is a crowded restaurant. The lounge is a peaceful oasis where you can unwind and refuel.
- A Mid-Day Retreat: Taking a mid-day break to escape the heat and crowds is a key strategy for a successful Universal trip. The Royal Pacific Club Level lounge is the perfect place for this. Pop in for a cold drink, a quick snack, and a moment of peace before heading back to the action.
- Luxury and Relaxation: The overall feeling of being a valued guest is a major plus. The service is attentive, and the lounge provides a calm, elegant space to decompress. It’s an elevated experience that makes your vacation feel more special.
Who Is Royal Pacific Club Level Best For?
The Royal Pacific Club Level isn’t for everyone. It’s best for guests who:
- Value Convenience: If you’re a family that wants to save time and energy on food and drinks, the lounge is an invaluable asset.
- Enjoy a Relaxed Pace: If you plan on taking mid-day breaks and appreciate a quiet place to unwind, you’ll get a lot of use out of the lounge.
- Are “Grazer” Eaters: If you’re happy with a variety of light fare instead of a full, sit-down meal for dinner, the evening offerings will be a great fit.
- Appreciate the Extras: For those who enjoy complimentary perks like included drinks and personalized service, the upgrade will feel worth it.
If your family prefers to eat at a variety of different restaurants and doesn’t plan on taking breaks from the parks, the Royal Pacific Club Level might not provide enough value to justify the cost.
Additional Thoughts Based on Our Most Recent Stay at Royal Pacific Club Level
The Royal Pacific Club Level offers an elevated experience, but it’s important to know what to expect. This is a perfect option if you appreciate dedicated service and a quiet place to relax.
A Tranquil Escape? The club lounge is a serene space with plenty of comfortable seating for guests to unwind. However, during peak hours, particularly around meal times, the lounge can become quite busy and may feel a bit overwhelming.
Dining at the Club Lounge The food and beverage offerings are a significant perk of the Club Level. Here’s what you should know about the dining experience:
- Breakfast: The breakfast is more than just a continental spread. For example, you can expect hot items like scrambled eggs and breakfast potatoes, alongside staples such as cereal, bagels, and pastries. The busiest times for breakfast are around 7:00 a.m. and again from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
- Evening Appetizers: The dinner service, which often starts with a rush of people at 5:00 p.m., can be a popular time. Please note that the menu you receive in your pre-arrival email might not be the same as the menu served in the lounge. This is because the menu can change unexpectedly, as was the case when a new hot menu was introduced during a recent stay.
- Desserts: Desserts are served from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and are a nice touch to end the day. However, they are likely not a strong enough reason on their own to purchase the Club Level upgrade.
Of note to those that enjoy non-alcoholic/zero-proof beverages, the Royal Pacific Club Lounge has one non-alcoholic beer. They did run out of it during our last evening there. However, we found the Sierra Nevada Trail Pass Golden to be good option, especially since it was complimentary.
