Halloween Horror Nights 35: the final weeks
HHN 35 runs select nights through Sunday, November 1, 2026 at Universal Studios Florida, with all 10 haunted houses — including Stranger Things 5, Hellraiser, Evil Dead Burn, Sinners, and Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness — plus the Stranger Things: Return to Hawkins lagoon show. October weekends are the busiest nights of the season, so if you’re going, weeknights in early October are your best bet for shorter house waits.

Volcano Bay closes October 26 (last day October 25)
Volcano Bay’s last operating day of 2026 is October 25. The water park then closes for seasonal maintenance and is scheduled to reopen on or before April 1, 2027. All three theme parks, CityWalk, and every on-site hotel stay open. If your trip is after October 25, skip the Volcano Bay ticket add-on and use your hotel pool instead. Holidays at Universal Orlando: November 14, 2026 – January 3, 2027
According to Universal Orlando’s official holiday announcement, the destination-wide celebration runs November 14, 2026 through January 3, 2027 — 51 days, starting a full week earlier than in 2025. What’s included with regular park admission:
- Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in all three wizarding lands (Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, and Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe), including “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle” projection show.
- Grinchmas in Seuss Landing at Islands of Adventure, with the live “Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular.”
- Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s nightly at Universal Studios Florida.
- Epic Universe’s first holiday decor in SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, plus the returning winter wonderland in Celestial Park.
The separately ticketed Universal Holiday Tour (Grinch, Max and Santa meet-and-greets plus reserved show and parade viewing) runs select dates November 14, 2026 – January 2, 2027 and requires a two-park, park-to-park ticket.
Current deals worth knowing about
Universal’s holiday-season offers include up to 30% off participating hotels on stays of five nights or more, savings of up to $300 more when bundled with tickets, and the “Get 2 Days Free with a 3-Day Ticket” offer — five park days for the price of three, valid for most dates through December 16, 2026 with blockouts around fall break and Thanksgiving. Florida residents can buy a 2-Park Unlimited Days Ticket for $199 plus tax, valid through December 16. Refurbishment dates come from Inside Universal’s weekly park report and can change, so check the Universal app the week of your trip.
What’s coming: Hollywood Drift testing and new projects
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, the coaster replacing Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, has started pull-through vehicle testing and is still scheduled for 2027 (no exact date yet). Beyond it, Universal is clearing the remaining Lost Continent area at Islands of Adventure, and county permits point to expansions near Epic Universe’s Ministry of Magic and Dark Universe, per Inside the Magic’s September roundup. None of those has an announced attraction yet, so treat franchise rumors (Pokémon included) as rumors.
At CityWalk, Five Guys is now open — an easy, budget-friendly family dinner after a park day.
2027 dates you can plan around now
- Rock the Universe 2027: January 22–23, 2027 at Universal Studios Florida, headlined by Elevation Worship and Josiah Queen, with a Sunday worship service January 24. Tickets went on sale September 15 (Inside Universal). This is a popular one for youth and church groups — Pixie plans group trips for it.
- Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval 2027: daily February 6 – March 27, 2027, included with Universal Studios Florida admission (Inside Universal).

Late fall is one of Universal’s best value windows: the ticket deal is still running, Volcano Bay’s closure means one less add-on to buy, and the holiday season now starts in mid-November.
