The fine print that changes the math in 2026

RuleWhat it means for your wallet
3+ day tickets now include Epic Universe on any daySince 2026, tickets of 3 or more days include Epic on any or all days — the old one-Epic-day limit only applies to 2-day tickets. A 3-day ticket is the cheapest way to get multiple Epic days.
Annual passes do NOT include Epic UniverseAll four passes (Seasonal $425 / Power $475 / Preferred $630 / Premier $905, before tax) cover USF + Islands of Adventure only. Passholders buy a separate dated Epic ticket, about $127–$178 per day.
The September 2026 3-day deal3-day, 3-park tickets from $99/day (single park per day) or $119/day with USF↔IOA park-to-park. Florida residents from $85/$95 per day, online only, use by Dec 23, 2026.
Express Pass is separate everywhereEpic Express runs roughly $140–$350+ per person per day and no hotel includes it for Epic. The three Premier hotels (Royal Pacific, Hard Rock, Portofino Bay) DO include unlimited Express for USF + Islands — often the single biggest reason a package wins. Run the Express calculator.
Kids’ pricingAges 3–9 run a little less than adult gate prices (usually $5–$15/ticket); under 3 are free. This calculator uses adult pricing, so a family with young kids will come in slightly under these totals.

Since the 2026 rule change, any ticket of 3+ days includes Epic Universe — SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, Stardust Racers and all — on every day of the ticket.

Common questions

Is a Universal annual pass worth it for one trip?

Almost never for a single trip. A Seasonal pass ($425) costs about the same as a 4–5 day park-to-park ticket, but it excludes Epic Universe entirely. The pass math only works when you’ll visit twice within 12 months — or when one adult upgrades to Preferred for the parking, hotel and discount stack across two trips.

What’s the cheapest way to do Epic Universe more than once?

A 3+ day ticket. Since the 2026 change, any ticket of 3 or more days includes Epic Universe on every day of the ticket. Two separate 1-day Epic tickets (from about $139 each) cost more than the jump from a 2-day to a 3-day ticket.

Do vacation packages actually save money?

The package’s edge isn’t usually the sticker price — it’s what’s bundled. Premier-hotel packages include unlimited USF/IOA Express Pass (worth $140+ per person per day bought separately) and early park admission. For a family of four in peak season that bundle regularly beats buying pieces separately. See what 2027 packages include.

Should I add Volcano Bay?

Volcano Bay closes October 26, 2026 to make way for Universal’s new water theme park, so for trips after that date the water-park add-on question answers itself. Here’s what replaces it.

Where packages quietly win: on-site hotel perks. Premier hotels bundle unlimited USF/Islands Express Pass — worth $140+ per person per day on its own.
